Apply for Training

Admission Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in either psychology, social work, counseling, pastoral counseling, medicine, psychiatric nursing or other mental health professional
  • License or pending license
  • Two years of supervised, full-time experience as a psychotherapist

Readiness for Training
The applicant’s previous training and experience will be assessed as part of the admissions process. Because trauma work is demanding and involves many new concepts, basic therapeutic skills should already be in place. Applicants should be familiar with the concepts of transference, countertransference, resistance, defense, and the dynamic unconscious, and be able to recognize them in clinical practice.

Application Procedure

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Applicants should submit the following:

  • Application and essay
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Copy of license
  • Application fee of $75

Applicants will be contacted to schedule two personal interviews with members of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee reviews applications and informs applicants of its decision. Admission is on a rolling basis. Applications should be submitted by May for consideration for matriculation in the Fall.

Tuition and Fees
Tuition for the academic year is $3,500. This includes Level I and II EMDR training. In addition, students are required to complete 30 hours of supervision, at a rate of $50 a session.

Please note that expenses for training directly related to one’s profession may be considered a tax-deductible expense.
