Trauma Study Group

The Trauma Study Group meets on alternate Wednesdays at ICP from 1:00-2:00. It is a continuation of the original group that began meeting after 9/11 and was the inspiration for the Trauma Studies Center.

The Trauma Study Group:
- Invites speakers on a variety of topics of interest to those in the trauma field
- Studies pertinent material and theories as a group
- Provides for community and support for this difficult work
- Offers innovative models of treatment

ICP Building Front ViewICP Building Front View The Trauma Study Group is open to all mental health professionals with an interest in understanding or treating trauma. Participation is by request. Regular attendance is encouraged in order to maintain group cohesiveness.

Presently we are studying and discussing the importance and impact of Fonagy's seminal work Affect Regulation, Mentalization, and the Development of Self.

Annual Workshops

Fall Workshop:

Saturday, December 4th from 10am - 5pm.

Each Fall and Spring, the Trauma Studies Center hosts a workshop featuring a prominent figure in the trauma field. We have been pleased to have some of the most important contributors to trauma theory and treatment come share their work with us. These events are popular and fill quickly, so please register early.
